The Springboard Awards for Excellence 2026

We are absolutely thrilled to share the incredible news that The Headland has won the Sustainable Business Award at the prestigious Springboard Awards for Excellence 2026!

Preserving our spectacular 126-year-old Victorian building while implementing modern, eco-friendly operational changes takes a lot of hard work and dedication. Led by our Sustainability Lead, Bethany Branigan, alongside our entire team, we are constantly working to minimise our environmental footprint and this award belongs to every single one of them.

The Springboard Awards are regarded as one of the highest honours in the UK hospitality industry, recognising the individuals, teams and businesses that go above and beyond. Being named a winner alongside some huge names in hospitality is an incredible milestone for our independent, family-owned hotel.

The Sustainable Business Award rewards outstanding corporate responsibility tied to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) factors. To win over the judges, businesses must show a deep commitment to sustainability at both a strategic and operational level.

The award recognises businesses that successfully prove luxury and commercial success can go hand in hand without harming the planet and we are so proud that The Headland has been recognised for doing exactly that.

Jason Adams, our Managing Director, attended the Springboard Awards for Excellence 2026 at the stunning Park Plaza in London to accept the award on behalf of the whole team.

While we often think of sustainability in terms of green energy and reducing waste, true sustainability is just as much about people as it is about the planet. That is exactly why we are so incredibly proud of the wider impact made at this year's awards.

The event raised a phenomenal £190,000 for The Springboard Charity, with these vital funds going directly toward supporting young people, jobseekers and individuals facing significant barriers to employment.

Thank you to Springboard, to the judges and to everyone who has championed and supported our sustainability journey. This is just the beginning!
