June Events
The Royal Cornwall Show (4th - 6th) - 25min drive from The Headland
A staple in the Cornish calendar for over 200 years. This is the county’s biggest annual event, offering a mix of world-class livestock displays, local food tents and lots of live entertainment. There's something for everyone here!
Tunes in the Dunes (5th - 7th) - 1hr 15min drive from The Headland
Just down the coast at Perranporth, you can experience a festival right on the beach. Dance on the sand and listen to big or small artists and local performers. It is the ultimate way to start the Summer. This festival is family-friendly, making this the perfect activity to keep both parents and children entertained.
Lappa Valley’s Grand Gala Weekend (13th - 14th) - 15min drive from The Headland
For steam enthusiasts and families, Lappa Valley's Grand Gala is a nostalgic and engaging day out. Celebrating their heritage, this weekend features non-stop runs on the main railway, racing trains and a spectacular grand finale, featuring a train with every available locomotive in action at once.
July Events
Newquay Food & Drink Festival (9th - 12th)
Located right on our doorstep, Newquay celebrates its beautiful local food. Expect live cooking demonstrations from local chefs, an array of street food stalls and plenty of Cornish gin and craft beer to sample. It’s a fantastic way to spend a long weekend soaking up Newquay’s buzzy harbour atmosphere.
The Eden Sessions (throughout June and July)
The iconic biomes of the Eden Project provide a perfect backdrop for huge artists. Eden music concerts have a reputation for incredible acoustics and an atmosphere unlike any other venue in the world.

Beaches & Walks
No summer trip to The Headland is complete without exploring the beaches right here on our doorstep. Beach trips are the obvious choice but there are many other beautiful sights to see such as woodland areas, waterfalls or National Trust hidden gems.
Fistral Beach
Right outside our hotel, Fistral is the home of British surfing. Whether you’re catching your first wave or enjoying a sunset stroll, it remains one of the most iconic beaches in Europe.
Porthcurno Beach & The Minack Theatre (1hr 15min drive from The Headland)
Head west to see the turquoise waters of Porthcurno. While there, a visit to the Minack Theatre is essential. Carved into the granite cliffs, this open-air theatre offers an unforgettable setting for a summer play.
St Nectan’s Glen (1hr from The Headland)
For something truly magical, head to St Nectan’s Kieve. A short walk through ancient woodland leads you to an incredible 60ft waterfall that flows through the rocks. It is a place of peace and natural beauty. A beautiful wooded café sits within the trees, serving food and drink as well as fresh milkshakes and a variety of bakes.

Lappa Valley (15min drive from The Headland)
Beyond the gala weekend, Lappa Valley is a wonderful day out for younger children, offering train rides, swan pedalos and crazy golf hidden in a secret valley.
Adrenalin Quarry (50min drive from The Headland)
This is perfect for older children and young adults seeking thrill and excitement. This flooded quarry offers ‘The Giant Swing’, coasteering and an inflatable aqua park as well as go-karting and other activities.
Camel Creek Family Theme Park (25min drive from The Headland)
Located near Wadebridge, this park offers a great mix of animal experiences, rides and arcades, making it a fantastic all-weather option for a family day out. Children of all ages will be entertained.
