The AquaClub - Cornwall’s most luxurious swimming centre
Three years and £10m in the making, The AquaClub at The Headland luxury resort is a no-luxury-spared swimming and wellbeing complex. The building, designed by Truro architects, Lilly Lewarne , the pools by Aqua Platinum, and with interiors by Dynargh Design its sleek curves soothe the senses while Cornish stonework celebrates the iconic landmark location on the edge of the Atlantic.
The AquaClub is available for adults only between 8am - 9am throughout the year and additionally, between 8pm - 9pm in the summer.
‘The Headland, perched on a rugged peninsula where the edge of town meets the sea, is a hotel immemorial where the tradition of hospitality has been lovingly preserved, and where a new multi-million pound pool and wellness centre is waiting to transport you to a higher plane.’

The indoor pools: Lap Pool, Hydrotherapy Pool, and the Children's Splash Pool
Serious about your training, even on holiday? Burn through your lengths in our 25-metre Lap Pool. We welcome families to the 25m pool but for a more peaceful swim, join us from 8am - 9am or 8pm - 9pm to have the pool to yourself.
Children have their own dedicated splash pool, shallow and safe, and made for fun, with water fountains and the unforgettable mushroom shower.
For an exhilarating escape, it’s humans versus bubbles in the Hydrotherapy Pool. Lounge on hydro chairs and jet beds and relieve those aching muscles. It’s a proper pummelling but in the gentlest way imaginable.
The Sunset Spa & Edge Pool
Hot and cold, but not blowing. This outdoor heated Sunset Spa Pool overlooks the Atlantic, but you’re shielded from the wind by high glass walls.
Need to get closer to the ocean's edge? It’s a few steps to the cool Edge Plunge Pool, where you can gaze out to the rolling waves.
This is a life-affirming space: romantic, invigorating, serene. For the full experience, have your favourite cocktail brought to you as the sun goes down and the stars come out.
The sun terrace
For those in-between-dips moments (there’ll be a fair few of them, and they’ll stretch) grab a deckchair and a book and sunbathe in an oasis of calm. Or gather with friends and family round a table for a prosecco, a pint of something Cornish, or freshly squeezed juices and smoothies.
The Vitality Pool
Dip into the stunningly beautiful and unique ‘vitality’ pool where you can linger and languish, revitalising the senses and feel the hydrotherapy experience blur away the blues as you watch the clouds scudding by.
Sit comfortably as you sip a cocktail with the sun on your face or watch it set with views over the Atlantic.
In the centre of the pool is The Headland's own Cornish granite menhir, a stunning celebration of our history and Celtic heritage.
Let body and soul unwind...
Just bring yourself & your cozzie
Everything else is provided: towels, shampoo, hair dryers...There’s even a swimsuit dryer so you don’t take that whiff of chlorine back to your room.

We don’t love rules, but…
For safety and everyone’s comfort, here are three headline rules we are often asked about:
1. Children under 12 are strictly prohibited from entering the hydrotherapy pools (indoor and outdoor) and the sunset spa pool. Children aged 12 – 16 must be supervised when using the hydrotherapy pool.
2. No smoking or vaping please, indoors or out.
3. Dogs - we adore them in and around our hotel and cottages, but they’re not allowed in The AquaClub and Deck Restaurant. Guide dogs are, of course, welcome.
