Summer Family Days Out in Cornwall

We all take a little while to unwind when we arrive at our holiday destination, but the relaxed luxury of The Headland, set against the soothing sound of the sea, will guarantee to calm the busiest of minds. Once you’re settled in and eager to explore the surrounding area, there is an adventure waiting for you at every turn in our beautiful county. Here we list a few great days out for all the family as recommended by Head Concierge – Sarah Gaskin.

Crantock Beach

The Headland sits proudly above world famous surf spot Fistral Beach, but if you fancy going a little further afield in search of more golden sand, why not try another nearby beauty? Situated between West and East Pentire headlands, Crantock Beach is a wonderful place for families, with the River Gannel and a host of safe shallow pools in which to play in. There is also a food truck on the beach. Arrive early to ensure a car parking space ,this is a National trust car park so a fee will be payable.

Camel Trail Cycle Route

Hire a bicycle at Wadebridge and cycle the very safe and flat Camel trail to either Padstow or Bodmin Jail. It is an 18-mile, largely traffic free, surfaced trail which showcases some of the finest views in the south west.
