Making A Difference

APRIL 2026

Investing in Cornwall: The Headland Raises £19k+ for Newquay Community Projects

At The Headland, we believe that a thriving hotel should go hand-in-hand with a thriving community. That’s why we are so thrilled to share some incredible news: in 2025, The Headland Community Fund raised a fantastic £19,668!

This money has been awarded to eight amazing local organisations across Newquay.

From protecting our coastline to supporting mental health, these grants are already being put to work where they are needed most.

Powered by Our Guests

The best part? This fund is powered by our guests. By donating £1 for every night’s stay, we’ve been able to partner with the Cornwall Community Foundation to find and fund the projects that make a real difference.

Our mission this year was clear: we wanted to support those tackling environmental issues, mental health, community infrastructure, and the wellbeing of our young people.

Meet the 2025 Grant Recipients

Here is a look at the eight local heroes we are supporting this year:

  • Beach Guardian CIC: Educating the next generation through marine skills workshops and community beach cleans.

  • Cornwall Hospitality Collective: Opening 'Collective Cafés' to give local students, including those in SEND and WAVE academies, a head start in hospitality careers.

  • Friends of Cornwall Youth Choirs: Bringing children together for a special “Meet the Composer” workshop to sing about our local environment.

  • Imagine Outdoors Together CIC: Getting children aged 10+ into the fresh air with free coastal path adventures and wellness walks.

  • Newquay Surf Life Saving: Investing in new rescue boards and equipment so more young people can gain vital water safety qualifications.

  • The Clothes Horse: Helping families access affordable children’s clothing in a warm, dignified, and welcoming environment.

  • True Butterflies Foundation: Expanding their vital domestic abuse support by training new mentors right here in Newquay.

  • Turnaround House (Wave House Church): Creating a safer, more welcoming outdoor communal space for our town’s most vulnerable and isolated residents.

Looking Forward

Since 2003, the Cornwall Community Foundation has awarded over £23m to groups across the county. We are incredibly proud to play our part in that legacy.

To everyone who stayed with us last year, thank you. You didn’t just enjoy a break by the sea, you helped invest in the future of Newquay. We look forward to seeing these eight projects flourish and continuing our mission to support the Cornish community we love so much.
