Springtime Magic: Why Easter is Cornwall’s Best-Kept Secret

Spring is when the world starts to defrost, flowers bloom and cobbled Cornish towns begin to buzz. Perched on the very edge of the coastline, The Headland offers a front-row seat to this seasonal transformation, the perfect setting to toast to the brighter days ahead.

Visiting Cornwall during spring is something special, it has so much to offer for couples, families and your furry friends. Beyond The Headland, there are many fun activities and days out to be had during this time of the year. Spring is Cornwall’s best-kept secret. It’s an intimate window of time where families, couples and four-legged friends can enjoy the coast’s quiet beauty before the summer crowds return.

Why not grab a picnic and head to Cornwall’s hidden jewel, The Lost Gardens of Heligan. They run Easter trails through their ‘Jungle’ and ‘Lost Valley’. Known for their beautiful spring blooms, this really is such a bucket-list spot for this season. The gardens are open daily from 10am until 3pm.

It goes without saying that an Easter Egg Hunt is essential for Springtime. Tregwainton Gardens are pulling out all of the stops this year to provide the ultimate egg hunt that families will love. Try popping the tail on the bunny, have a go at the birdy bean bag toss, guess the footprints, seed planting for bees and more. The trail takes place between the 3rd and the 19th of April 2026 (closed Fridays and Saturdays, except Good Friday) from 10am to 5pm.

Porthleven Food Festival is a great way to indulge in savoury and sweet treats, guilt-free as that’s what Easter is all about! While the food festival is just after the Easter holidays, if you are extending your stay or want to continue the fun, this is one of Cornwall's biggest food events with stalls, chef demos and live music around the harbour.
