Festive Magic by the Sea
Having stayed with us over the last ten years, Geraldine Benson Tucker will be checking in for a longer time in November as she becomes our latest Artist in Residence.
Geraldine is a contemporary artist exploring themes of well-being, balance and the deep connection between nature and humanity.
Whilst staying with us, she will producing two pieces of art, which will be displayed in our gorgeously refurbished Ballroom once finished.
During her time with us, Geraldine will be running two workshops called ‘The Echoes of The Headland’, which focus on painting our iconic building throughout the years.
The sessions are 2.5 hours long and include an introduction from Geraldine, an exploration of archive material, plein air sketches, main painting session and a reflection period.
The workshops take place on Saturday, November 15 and Saturday, November 22 and are open to those staying with us and day visitors. They are priced at £49 per person and include cream teas.
The sessions will be relaxed and beginner-friendly exploring layered mark-making, washes and texture to create your own expressive study of the hotel and coastline. All materials will be provided, no experience required.
Throughout her time with us, she will also be opening her studio to residents and non-residents where you will be able to observe a master at work and talk her through.
