The Headland's Big Sale

Aladdin’s Cave of hotel equipment to go on sale in New Year

Chandeliers, dining chairs and more than 2,500 items of crockery and glassware are among items for sale at a five-star hotel in Newquay next month.

The Big Headland Food and Beverage Sale will take place on Monday, January 2, ahead of the introduction of a new restaurant for the hotel in the spring.

Hotel Director Veryan Palmer said: “The Samphire Restaurant is closing to be replaced by a new £2.5m restaurant, main kitchen and staff dining area in April 2023, so we are taking the opportunity to have a clear-out sale whilst raising some funds for Newquay DISC and Newquay Foodbank.

“We are inviting anyone interested in a wide range of food and beverage items to email us (refurb@headlandhotel.co.uk) if they wish to receive a list and pictures of available items. Alternatively they can come along from 11.30am on January 2 to view the items at the hotel, with the sale starting at 2pm.”

Crockery items include plates, bowls, vegetable dishes, cups and saucers. Also available are two large 12-prong chandeliers, hot and cold buffets, four waiter’s stations, three waiter’s side drops, one maitre d station, glassware, more than 200 dining chairs, 200 conference chairs and 50-plus tables.

Some items will be price-tagged, whilst others will be available by making an offer.

As in previous years, The Headland will be sharing a proportion of the revenues generated with both Newquay DISC and Newquay Foodbank, therefore CASH ONLY payments are requested. There will be no card payments or bank transfers. All items must be collected on the day of the sale, there are no storage facilities at the hotel.
