Things to enjoy this May Half Term

Things to enjoy this May Half Term

May half term is almost upon us. With the promise of warmer weather, an extra bank holiday, and Jubilee celebrations, we have compiled a fantastic variety of activities in the area suitable for all the family.

The recommendations come from our fabulous head concierge Sarah Gaskin, and hey cater for all weather types and all of them within a short walk or drive from The Headland.

Celebrate the Jubilee in Newquay!

The Platinum Jubilee Afternoon Tea Party - On Saturday 4th June, join us for The Platinum Jubilee Afternoon Tea Party, where The Headland will be welcoming guests to celebrate this special occasion in style. Bring along family and friends and take your places on the large communal tables to enjoy decadent Afternoon Teas. The Headland Chefs will be recreating the winning dessert from the National Platinum Pudding competition - A mouth-watering Lemon Swiss Roll and Amaretti Trifle.

Spaces are limited so we recommend booking in advance - £35.00 per adult, £17.50 per child.

Savour one of our Jubilee cocktails in The Ballroom afterward, where we will be screening a selection of the televised events.

Lighting of the Beacon 2nd June - Just down the road from The Headland, the Newquay Beacon lighting will take place at Huers Hut. Starting at 8pm, enjoy an evening of live music from Newquay Male Voice Choir, Pipers and Newquay Town Band before the beacon is lit at 9:45pm.

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Beacon Trail - Why not also join in the nationwide celebrations and follow the Beacon Trail. This is an interactive experience and as you visit the story points in order you can collect digital stamps, learn more of the story and, of course, take some selfies!
