AquaClub at The Headland Hotel in Newquay, Cornwall

Ranked #10 in the 'World’s Best Hotel Swimming Pools'

The AquaClub - Cornwall’s most luxurious swimming complex

The soul of the clifftop. Forget hushed corridors and whispering, the AquaClub is the beating heart of The Headland. It’s a place of movement, life and the unmistakable energy of the Atlantic.

Whether it’s the splash of the family pools or the social buzz of a mid-swim cocktail, this is wellness with the volume turned up.

Swim & Dine is how we do it best. Dive into the blue, then head straight to The Deck for wood-fired pizzas, Mediterranean plates and a vibrant atmosphere that carries you from breakfast through to dinner.

Open daily 8am – 9pm. Adults-only sessions 8–9am and 7–9pm.

Six Pools. Infinite Energy.

‘The Headland, perched on a rugged peninsula where the edge of town meets the sea, is a hotel immemorial where the tradition of hospitality has been lovingly preserved, and where a new multi-million-pound pool and wellness centre is waiting to transport you to a higher plane.’
Daily Mail

From the salt-spray of the Atlantic to the steam of the hydrotherapy spaces, our six pools are designed for movement. Whether you’re chasing a new PB in the lanes or sharing a bottle of wine poolside, there is a corner of the AquaClub for every mood.

The Vitality & Edge Pools: Where the clifftop meets the water. Feel the Atlantic breeze from the outdoor terrace, then sink into the bubbles of our vitality & hydrotherapy pools. This is the hub of the club: busy, warm and spectacularly coastal.

The Lap Pool & Splash Pool: High ceilings and high energy. Whether it’s the focused rhythm of the 25-metre indoor swimming pool or the echoes of family fun in the splash zone, the atmosphere here is always in motion.

The Sunset Spa (Hot Tub): The best seat in the house. As the day winds down, the glass-fronted spa pool offers front-row seats to the magic of the ocean.

Swim. Sip. Socialise. Welcome to The Deck.

The Deck is where the energy of the pools meets the heat of the kitchen. Forget formal dining, this is about wood-fired pizzas and vibrant Mediterranean small plates.

With QR code ordering from the pools, the drinks come to you. From expertly shaken cocktails and crisp wines to ice-cold Cornish beers and refreshing mocktails, we bring the bar to the water’s edge.

Perfect refreshment whether you’re fuelling up between laps or settling in for a sunset session.

We don’t love rules, but…

For safety and everyone’s comfort, here are some rules we are often asked about:

  • Children under 12 are strictly prohibited from entering the hydrotherapy pools (indoor and outdoor) and the sunset spa pool.
  • Children aged 12 – 16 must be supervised when using the hydrotherapy pool.
  • No smoking or vaping please, indoors or out.
  • Dogs - we adore them in and around our hotel and cottages, but they’re not allowed in the AquaClub and Deck Restaurant. Guide dogs are, of course, welcome.
