The Headland blends classic comfort with up-to-the-minute amenities for a truly easy-going vibe. Relax with family, friends or colleagues amid enchanting decor and awe-inspiring coastal views, all underpinned by the four-star, award-winning hospitality we know you love.
We've a big history and a unique story to tell. Established 1900, The Headland has been a longstanding favourite with royal visitors including King George VI, King Edward VII, The Prince of Wales and Princess Royal. We also found fame on the silver screen - the most well-known film made on location here at the hotel is Roald Dahl’s ‘The Witches’.
Our friendly hospitality is a point of pride and we’re honoured to be the only hotel in Newquay to win ‘Gold’ at the 2015 Cornwall Tourism Awards. We are also a recipient of 2016/17 Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor.
Dogs are welcome in our hotel & cottages – even wet and sandy ones, as long as they are well-behaved! For your four legged friends we can provide a dog bowl, blanket, food and some yummy treats. There's a charge of £24 per dog, per night but with miles of sandy beach for them to run along it's well worth it.
Uncover a fresh take on seaside dining. Our exceptional culinary team is driven by a passion for cuisine that is as wholesome as it is flavourful. Led by Executive Chef Christopher Archambault and inspired by our beautiful Cornish coastline, we create exciting options everyone will enjoy.
We’re committed to preserving the raw beauty of Cornwall’s coastline. Our glass crusher provides local artists with materials for making jewellery, and using a cardboard compactor saves an estimated 6-8 tonnes of landfill space every year.
Relax on our private terraces, take a dip in one of our pools, or unwind in the spa. And if you feel adventurous, head to the Surf Sanctuary to sign up for a Stand-Up Paddleboarding lesson or a kitesurfing session. With so much at your fingertips, you’ll wonder how you can ever leave.
Choose from a wide variety of elegant bedrooms and luxury suites to find the right fit for you. Our cool coastal cottages are ideal for family days on the beach or that long-overdue get-together with friends. Planning an event? From little to lavish, we can help.
Newquay alone can keep you occupied for days with its gorgeous beaches, fine dining, nightlife and boutiques. Amble into town, rent a kayak or go on a fishing trip. Beyond the beach, there are attractions and kid-friendly activities galore, including Newquay Zoo, Dairyland and miles of breathtaking walking routes.
With a sherbet-soft sand beach and sweeping bay views, The Headland offers a unique vantage point to experience Cornwall’s beauty. We’re two minutes from the UK’s most famous beach, yet off on our own exclusive stretch of Headland, away from the masses. Welcome to the land of wild seas, salty lips and sandy toes.
