The Brasserie opens at 6.30pm and has a special children's menu, alternatively The Terrace is open until 8pm for more informal dining with family friendly menus. Reception staff will be happy to listen to your baby monitor in the evenings if required, don't forget to bring one with you if needed.

Well-behaved dogs with responsible owners are welcome. The daily charge includes, if required, a meal of tinned food.  One paw over the threshold and the charge applies.  Please note that whilst walking your dog in the grounds, you are responsible for clearing up any mess. Dog charges are £13 per dog per night.

Whether for a birthday, anniversary, Christmas or just a thank you, a Headland voucher makes the ideal present.  Available from as little as £5, these can be used for anything - cream tea, dinner, Sunday Lunch or a night or two in the hotel or cottages.

Just call or email today with details of what you would like to purchase, who the voucher is for, and your special message.  We will need to take payment at the time of purchase, but the voucher can be used for up to 12 months.

For something more immediate how about a lovely bouquet of flowers from Hubbers, a bottle of champagne or some truly delicious handmade chocolates from Nicky Grant?   Choccara is the new range of fresh handmade chocolates from Nicky Grant who is more well known for her amazing wedding cakes.   Her philosophy is simple,  to make chocolates that are free from preservatives and full of fresh natural ingredients and local Cornish produce such as organic cream and butter. She makes all of the chocolates by hand.  She selects fine chocolate couvertures from around the world including origin chocolates from Venezuela and plantation chocolates from Peru and Trinidad.

For a longer lasting memento, how about a Headland print, as seen in the Porter's lobby in Reception, or some lovely Cornish tin earrings and cufflinks?

Check in and check out

Rooms may not be ready until 2.30pm on the day of arrival, however guests are welcome to use the hotel facilities in case of early arrival or late departure.  Rooms can be pre-booked for an extra charge from the night before to guarantee an early arrival.  Late check outs are charged as follows: until 4pm @ 50% of the applicable room rate, after 4pm a full nights charge will apply.  Early check in and late check out are subject to availability.

On site activities

Whilst you are here, you can ditch the car in our on site free car park and enjoy one of the many on site activites we have on offer.

Make sure you pack your swimming things, in summer if you tire of the beach, why not laze around our outdoor heated pool, but if the weather is cool or during the winter months, take advantage of our heated indoor pool, spa bath and sauna to melt your cares away.   The outdoor pool is heated from the end of May until early September.  Please bring your own towels for use on the beach and by the outdoor pool, towels for the indoor pool are provided.

If you are looking for something everyone can enjoy, we have 3 tennis courts, a short approach 9 hole golf course and plenty of room for a game of football.  On rainy days, come into the hotel for a steaming cup of coffee or hot chocolate and amuse yourself with one of the many board games you can borrow from Reception.  Younger children will be kept happy for hours with our Giant Jenga and Connect 4 games.

If you are interested in nature and the environment, our Groundsman has prepared a couple of excellent trails which will entertain and educate.  Whether you choose the wildflower safari or rock pool safari, you are bound to learn something new.

Disabled access

The policy at The Headland Hotel and Cottages is to be as inclusive as possible to all guests, and not discriminate on the grounds of physical limitations.  We accept service dogs in all rooms and cottages, public areas, bar and restaurants.  There are a number of designated disabled parking bays close to the front of the Hotel and the Village, and a slope has been constructed to the front door of the hotel and the staff entrance.  The paths around the Village have been improved to allow for easy access for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility.  There is a lift available to all floors within the hotel and some bedrooms are suitable for wheelchair access - our Reservations staff are able to advise on this.  We have a number of aids available for our guests inlcuding a bath hoist.  Where possible, all print is done in clear text.  The new website has been designed to be accessible for the visually impaired.  All dietary requirements can be catered for.  We ask guests to advise us on any problems they may have in the event of an emergency evacuation, and please be assured that all members of staff will be advised of any assistance required in the event of an emergency.  All hotel bedrooms and cottages have a telephone landline, so that assistance can be summoned 24 hours a day if necessary.  We aim to offer good service to all our guests, and many of our staff have attended relevant training covering issues relevant to our disabled guests.

 

Restrictions

- Groups of single sex parties will not be accepted.
- Smoking is not permitted in the hotel or bedrooms.
- Each year the Headland Hotel closes from 4pm on Christmas Eve until 9am on 27th December.

Behaviour of guests and their visitors should not be excessive or rowdy, and must not cause annoyance, distress or embarrassment to fellow guests. We reserve the right to recover from the person making the booking any discretionary compensation payment, or discount, we may have to pay to any other guests, as a result of your actions, or a member of your party or visiting friends. This includes damage to hotel buildings, fixtures and fittings, and includes flood damage.
