Our Core Values

The Headland's core values are hugely important and help us communicate to the outside world exactly what we stand for. They are not mere marketing 'buzzwords', they are fundamental truths.

  • The Headland isn't part of a nationwide chain; it's a well loved family-run business and cares for guests in a genuine and personal manner. The Headland Hotel and Spa isn't restricted by having to follow the corporate format and rules so often used in large hotel chains.

  • The Headland is friendly, welcoming and relaxed.  It's a lovely and informal, relaxing retreat from the outside world, where guests - whether they are dressed in board shorts or black tie - are all very welcome.

  • The Headland continually strives to improve its facilities, guest service and attention to detail. It is improving, evolving and investing in its offering to ensure it continues to modernise, but never once forgets its rich heritage.

  • The Headland is committed to delivering good old fashioned hospitality.  Exceptional customer service is achieved through the genuine passion and pride of all employees.

  • The Headland Hotel is an iconic symbol of Cornwall and the county's tourism industry. The Headland is proud to be in Cornwall and celebrates its unique position both geographically and operationally. After all, it has epitomised the very best standards of hospitality in Cornwall for over 100 years. In the 2014/15 Cornwall Tourism Awards, Mr and Mrs Armstrong received the Outstanding Contribution to Tourism award in recognition of their achievements and contributions to many aspects of tourism in Cornwall.
